Elections renew democracies. They provide
new energy and vitality to democratic governments and underline the supremacy of the people. When change is in the air,
they create drama and hope, along with some foreboding as well. As the first of India's 80-crore plus votes is cast on Monday
morning, the country's most significant elections of the last quarter of a century get underway.
Twenty five years ago, the 1989 polls signalled the end of single party domination and the beginning of the coalition era
in India.
In the present general elections in India , the main fight is
between Mr. Narendra Damodar Das Modi and Mr. Rahul Gandhi . Basically both are of good moral character and we have no hesitation
atall to say that India can be safe in the hands of either of the two .
